Jenny Hill - Sax
Jenny Hills musical journey has resulted in a diverse resume that includes jazz, reggae, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban traditions. While a member of the DIVA jazz orchestra, she performed with jazz artists Nancy Wilson, Dianne Schuur, Clark Terry, Dave Brubeck, and Joe Williams. She has toured and recorded with reggae greats such as Maxi Priest, Dennis Brown, Toots and the Maytals, and Burning Spear, as well as pop and soul artists Govt. Mule, Corey Glover, Daniel Ponce, Eumir Deodato, Bernie Worrell, DJ Logic, and MC Solaar.
Jenny is featured in the books Practice Like The Pros by Sue Terry, and Rock and Roll Saxophone by John Laughter. Her jazz composition Lost In Shallow Thought won the JAZZIZ magazine Woodwinds On Fire competition in 1996. Other honors include a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for private study with tenor saxophonist and jazz icon Joe Lovano, and the Lennie Johnson Outstanding Musician Award from Berklee College of Music.
Jenny is currently touring with the Easy Star All-Stars, playing Dub Side of the Moon, a reggae and dub treatment of Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon, and will be appearing with the Denis Leary Rescue Me Comedy tour this spring.
